A Bit More About
Benedict started learning the violin at the age of 3, and in the following years also took up piano, percussion and clarinet. A family gift of an Amiga 500 opened his eyes to gaming, and shortly after his love for improvisation and film soundtracks meshed with his love for games, and he began writing his own music to game to. By the age of 17 he had achieved a DipABRSM in piano performance, was the pianist for DYJO, performing at noteworthy locations such as the Royal Albert Hall, and went on to receive a first class BA in Music (Hons) from Manchester University (recipient of the Procter-Gregg Prize) and an MA in composition for film from BU. His professional entry into the games industry came through Battle Camp (Apple Awards - best MMO game), for which he was tasked with writing music in different styles every few weeks. Since then he has worked on many projects, including, films (shorts and feature length), trailers, live theatre, concert performances and over 40 games.
Noteable games include OMNO (2022 - Ivor Nominated soundtrack), The Falconeer series (BAFTA nominated for best debut game), Before We Leave (PAV winner for best soundtrack), Dread Hunger (PAV winner - Slice of Heaven (Grand Prize) and fan favourite games such as Catastronauts and Slopecrashers.
